様々な薬物を細胞外へ輸送する「薬物排泄トランスポーター」はがん細胞で高発現しており、抗がん剤耐性獲得の原因となる。本研究ではRNAの塩基変換を触媒するRNA編集酵素ADARが、5’末端と3’末端が結合する独特な形状をもつ「環状RNA」の産生を制御することに着目して、がん細胞の抗がん剤耐性獲得機構の解明を目指す。この研究で明らかにする新たな耐性獲得機構を、将来的には創薬の標的とすることを目指す。

大腸がんは軟性内視鏡により早期発見・治療することで完治が可能である。しかし、既存の軟性内視鏡は操作が難しく、術者への技術習得の負担が大きい。この問題の解決策として操作を支援するための軟性内視鏡デバイスは有用であるが、従来機構では部品点数が多く、サイズが大きい。本研究では弾性体の柔軟変形を利用した柔軟メカニズムを用いた小型・軽量・シンプルな軟性内視鏡デバイスを開発した。
