海流分散は、生物が海流に乗り漂着先で繁殖し生息地が広がることを指し、島嶼地域では他の分散方法に比べ、その頻度は高いと考えられ、生物相の成立考えるうえで重要な要素となる。しかし、既存の昆虫の海流分散に関する研究は、分子集団遺伝学的解析によるものばかりで他指標を用いて海流分散を示唆した研究は少ない。したがって、本研究では、海水耐性という新たな指標から昆虫の分布形成に対する海流の影響を評価する。
