戦後の沖縄における建築物への木材利用政策の変遷
(Transition of wood utilization policies for buildings in postwar Okinawa)

 Abstract
In June 2021, the ‘Act for Promotion of Use of Wood in Public Buildings’ was revised into the ‘Act for Promotion of Use of Wood in Buildings to Contribute to the Realization of a Decarbonized Society,’ expanding the scope of the law from ‘public buildings’ to ‘all buildings.’ While wooden construction in public buildings is expected to become increasingly important in promoting the use of wood in the future, there have been no prefecture-maintained wooden public buildings in Okinawa Prefecture since 2012.
Although these two laws have achieved a certain level of success nationwide, trends in wood utilization promotion vary from region to region, and Okinawa Prefecture is expected to introduce a wood utilization policy that takes regional characteristics into account. In this study, the history and current status of wood utilization policies for buildings in postwar Okinawa were ascertained through literature and data research, and the ineffectiveness of each policy measure was revealed. In future studies, it will be necessary to conduct a detailed survey and analyze the effectiveness of policies for using wood in buildings from a multifaceted perspective, including construction, distribution, and technology.
