Comments
The second phase of the long-term vision for future air traffic systems (Collaborative Actions for Renovation of Air Traffic Systems), CARATS2040, was released in June 2025 by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. To coincide with this, a Promotion Forum (hosted by the Air Navigation Services Department of the Civil Aviation Bureau, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism) was held on November 19 of the same year. This award was granted for my oral presentation at the student competition “the 1st CARATS2040 Challenge Competition” held within that forum. My presentation, based on my research concepts and experimental data from my doctoral studies, outlined the benefits and challenges of incorporating more human sciences perspectives into the aviation industry. It also included specific policy proposals for government and industry.
While I am currently affiliated with a cognitive psychology laboratory, I have always aspired to contribute to aviation safety from the perspective of human sciences. Consequently, I have been conducting my research with a parallel interest in various factors, including human error, human factors, and human-machine collaboration. Beyond this presentation, which is currently at the proposal stage, I am committed to continuing my studies and research across diverse fields. Furthermore, I will continue to strive for excellence, including through my practical involvement in glider activities within the university’s aviation club as part of my extracurricular pursuits.
