This is an important notice for those who will begin receiving support from K²-SPRING/K-BOOST from April 2026.
① The support start date (program adoption date) is April 1, 2026.
② According to a notice from JST, international students who are not in Japan on the support start date (April 1, 2026) will not be able to receive the Research Aids for April.
International students who are currently not in Japan (including those who have returned to their home countries temporarily) should make arrangements to return to Japan by March 31, if possible.
The date of your arrival/return to Japan will be confirmed by checking your passport at a later date.
③ The first payment of the Research Aid is scheduled to be made on May 21 (payment will be made for the combined amount for April and May).
④ A briefing session for new program students will be held online on April 8 (Wed) from 11:00.
Details will be sent by email at a later date.
⑤ The Notification of Course Approval and the Notification of Amount of Research Aids will be sent to your KU Primary Email address in early April.
⑥ No need to go through any special procedures for the half-tuition fee exemption of this program.
The exemption of half of the tuition fee for this program does not interfere with the application for Kyushu University’s tuition fee exemption (The Original System).
In the case of those who are judged to be in particularly high financial need during the screening process for tuition fee exemption (original system), there is a possibility that they will be judged to be eligible for full exemption. If you think that your family’s circumstances mean that you are in particularly high financial need, please apply for tuition fee exemption (original system).
⑦ If the academic advisor you listed at the time of application is different from the advisor who will supervise you after April 2026, there is a possibility that we may not be able to allocate your research funds.
