【The +α Series for Researchers Vol. 31: Webinar】
Theme: “Embracing Life Events for Early-Career Researchers, an environment that allows for both research and life events?”

Date: Monday, February 17, 2025, 12:00-13:30

Summary:
Life events such as marriage, pregnancy, childbirth, childcare, and nursing care come one after another at the start of research careers. For young researchers, it is essential to have a stable life foundation in order to fulfill their research life. However, many young researchers are troubled by how to balance these life events. In this seminar, we will provide the latest specific examples of “support systems for researchers’ life events” provided by the government and universities to help solve such problems. Please take advantage of this opportunity to talk directly with the people running the systems and deepen your understanding of how to effectively utilize the systems. We would also love to hear your feedback from the field of research!

Topics (tentative):
1. Reasons for working to promote diversity
2. Case studies of various life event support systems available to researchers
– Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (Dr. Kaneko)
– Japan Science and Technology Agency (Dr. Kobase)
