Interdisciplinary Research Based on “Vulnerability”: Society and Academia from a Criminological Perspective — Interdisciplinary Research Beginning with “Vulnerability”: Society and Academia as Seen by Criminology Researchers —
〈Date and Time〉
Wednesday, August 12, 2026, 4:00–5:00 p.m.
〈Event Overview〉
Criminal policy studies is a field that brings to light societal issues related to crime and delinquency and examines the nature of laws and institutions designed to resolve them. Today, as the social implementation of research through collaboration between academia and “powerful” entities such as corporations and government agencies is emphasized, criminal policy studies has the potential to create new interdisciplinary research that contributes to the well-being of diverse people by posing questions rooted in people’s “vulnerability” and engaging with society.
For this webinar, we are pleased to welcome Dr. Yuki Takahashi (Associate Professor at Fukushima University) to speak about initiatives in the field of criminal policy studies and its relationship with academia. We invite you to join us for this opportunity to reflect on the future of “society” and academia, as well as on how to create a society where diverse people—including ourselves—can live more comfortably.
