Date & Time: Monday, February 9, 2026, 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM

Overview:
TI-FRIS (Tohoku Initiative for Fostering Researchers for Interdisciplinary Sciences) was selected in FY2020 for the Strategic Development of Globally Competitive Researchers program. It has formed a consortium of seven universities in the Tohoku region to build a new researcher development program for the entire region, producing world-class researchers equipped with “interdisciplinarity,” “internationality,” and “social engagement.”
For this event, we are honored to welcome Dr. Toshiyuki Hayase, Program Manager of TI-FRIS. He will discuss talent development within TI-FRIS, introduce its distinctive Hub Meeting initiative, and share his perspective on the importance of diverse exchanges fostering interdisciplinarity, internationality, and social responsibility among young researchers.
