【Researcher Plus Series Vol.38: Webinar】
Theme:
“TRiSTAR’s Vision for Tomorrow ― Cultivating Transborder Talent for the Next Generation ―”

Date & Time:
Friday, November 21, 2025, 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM

Overview:
The University × National Research Institute × Industry Collaboration Top Runner Program (TRiSTAR) at the University of Tsukuba (a top-runner development program through university-national research institute-industry collaboration) launched in FY2021 after being selected for the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology’s “Strategic Development of Researchers Capable of Global Contribution” initiative. It aims to contribute to the revitalization of Japan’s research capabilities by cultivating “transborder researchers” who, beyond deepening their specialized expertise, can generate co-creation across disciplinary and industrial boundaries (borders) and create new research streams.
For this event, we are honored to welcome Professor Masayuki Umemura, Program Manager of TRiSTAR, who will present his insights on cultivating young researchers capable of global impact. His lecture will cover the program’s talent development concept, its cultivation outcomes, and future vision. This is a valuable opportunity to gain deep insights from a real-world perspective on nurturing young researchers. We encourage you to register and join us.

● What are Transborder Talents?
● Development Effects of TRiSTAR Initiatives
● Vision for the Future
● Q&A
