This event is primarily intended for students participating in the K-BOOST program.

◆ Date & Time: Tuesday, October 7, 2025, 14:00–16:00 (Doors open at 13:30)
◆ Venue: JST Tokyo Headquarters Annex, 1st Floor Hall
7 Gobancho, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo (K’s Gobancho Building)
◆ Format: In-person / English only
◆ Organized by: National Research Council Canada (NRC)
◆ Co-organized by: Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST)

◆ Overview:
As efforts to implement artificial intelligence (AI) in society accelerate worldwide, it is increasingly important to strike a balance between advancing research and earning public trust. In Japan, initiatives such as the Moonshot R&D Program are driving AI-related research, and international collaboration with countries that share similar values is becoming more crucial.
Canada is one of the most unique countries in the field of AI research and development. The NRC has been leading AI research across a wide range of domains, including optoelectronic components (e.g., circuit design), biological systems (e.g., cell behavior simulation), and materials science (e.g., molecular discovery for clean energy). Moving forward, NRC aims to focus more on the social implementation of AI to enhance industrial productivity.
With support from JST, NRC is hosting this event to share insights into Canada’s AI research landscape through talks by three experts from academia, industry, and government. We hope this will be a valuable opportunity for researchers and professionals in Japan to discuss future directions for international collaboration and AI development from a global perspective.
