様々な薬物を細胞外へ輸送する「薬物排泄トランスポーター」はがん細胞で高発現しており、抗がん剤耐性獲得の原因となる。本研究ではRNAの塩基変換を触媒するRNA編集酵素ADARが、5’末端と3’末端が結合する独特な形状をもつ「環状RNA」の産生を制御することに着目して、がん細胞の抗がん剤耐性獲得機構の解明を目指す。この研究で明らかにする新たな耐性獲得機構を、将来的には創薬の標的とすることを目指す。
